Dear Fifth Grade Families,
Thank you to all the families that attended and volunteered their time at our first Mountain School fundraiser, the Ice Cream Social. We raised over $1100 at this event. We have begun our journey in a great way!
All Silver Beach fifth grade students will attend the Mountain School Program at the North Cascades Institute in March for a fun and educational two-night/three-day adventure. As the school year progresses, we will keep you informed of deposit deadlines, parent meetings, fundraising details, important paperwork needs and a packing list for your student. We appreciate you providing us your email address to expedite and ensure this communication.
Our Mountain School Program is sponsored by the Silver Beach Elementary Association (SBEA) and self-funded through our parent organization. It is not financially supported through the Bellingham School District. The SBEA has agreed to pay for the Mountain School transportation cost. Registration is $150 per person to attend. A $50 deposit from each family will be due mid November. Our Mountain School fundraising efforts and corporate sponsorships have a direct impact on the remaining balance required from each family. Funds raised will defray the registration costs for students and chaperones and will provide scholarships to those who qualify.
On Thursday, September 30 from 5-6:30 p.m., we will host a Pizza Feed for all Silver Beach Elementary families. This is the same evening as the Silver Beach Open House which starts at 6:30 p.m. Pizza, water, soda, chocolate bars and ice cream sundaes will be available to purchase. Make sure to encourage all Silver Beach families to join us!
